This hike is one of the easiest trails to the high meadow
wildflowers. There will be breathtaking views of 3 Fingered Jack, waterfalls,
and beaver ponds. You will hike through lodge pole pines, past two ponds on top
of a ridge and climb down to a lush meadow. Blue Lupine and red paintbrush are
growing best during July-August. We will stop in the meadows and have a gourmet
lunch while the llamas browse on the lush grass . Bring your binoculars because
the keen eyes may catch a glimpse of climbers inching their way up Three
Fingered Jack. Our return hike will take us past an active beaver area where you
will see large pine trees that have been ringed by the beavers. Past the beaver
digs, we will come to a footbridge and the sound of falling water. This is the
first of two waterfalls we will encounter. What a great opportunity for
waterfall pictures! Be sure to bring your camera.
